Take Back Your Life Giveaway! #TakeBackYourLife #FlyBy

Hey y'all!! Can you believe it's practically September now?!  2020 is literally flying by us!

I'm back with a really wonderful giveaway.  This book is called Take Back Your Life  ~  A 40 Day Interactive Journey to Thinking Right So You Can Live Right, by Levi Lusko.

I'm only a few days into this book, but it's easily the most important one I've read in 2020.

In Take Back Your Life,  Lusko helps you learn to handle both external and internal circumstances and battles so you can move forward and take back your life.   Every daily devotion includes a prayer, journaling prompts and questions to answer, plus a relevant scripture.

I'm absolutely loving this book, and it's a great way to begin each day.  Day 6 is my favorite so far - it's called Mask Off.  It's about the mask(s) we wear as a defense to hide our fears that we aren't enough.  Wow.  It's powerful stuff, y'all.   Get yours here!

You can also visit this site to download a four day version of this for your kids! There are also lunchbox notes to print out, a worksheet for kids to help work through their emotions, and more!

I hope that this book will bless your days like it is blessing mine!  I look forward to each new chapter and I'm excited to see the changes in me after 40 days.   It's really helping me examine my thinking and make positive changes.  This is a particularly challenging time in my life as I navigate single-parenting a teen, training for a new job, going through a divorce, and all the other changes that we have going on.  Levi Lusko's latest book has really been a game-changer for me.

Author Bio: Levi Lusko is the founder and lead pastor of Fresh Life Church, located in Montana, Wyoming, Oregon, and Utah. He is the bestselling author of Through the Eyes of a Lion, Swipe Right, and I Declare War. Levi also travels the world speaking about Jesus. He and his wife, Jennie, have one son, Lennox, and four daughters: Alivia, Daisy, Clover, and Lenya, who is in heaven.

I am so happy that I get to give away a copy of this book!  All you have to do is enter through my rafflecopter giveaway below.

The Young Messiah AMC Movie Ticket Giveaway!

The Young Messiah Movie ~ IN THEATERS MARCH 11TH

The Young Messiah is not just a story about Jesus. It’s the story about Jesus and his family. Heading into this film, the producers knew this was a fresh take on Jesus and the Holy family. The filmmakers quickly realized Mary and Joseph faced many of the same problems as parents today. As parents we are always faced with difficult decisions on what's best for our children.

Inspired by Scripture and rooted in history, this story imagines a year in the boyhood of Jesus. Remaining true to the character of Jesus revealed in the Bible, The Young Messiah is an inspirational story about the childhood of the Savior for the whole family.

When the mystery of Jesus’ divinity begins to unfold in His early years, He turns to His parents for answers. But Mary and Joseph, in an effort to protect their child, are afraid to reveal all they know. How do you explain the ways of the world to its Creator? How do you teach the Teacher? How do you help the Savior who came to save you?

Follow the young Messiah as He and His family take the extraordinary journey from Egypt to Nazareth and on to Jerusalem – where His true identity and profound destiny are revealed.

Holiday decoration tour

Here are a few of my favorite decorations and ornaments this year....

This is one of Walmart's fab $1 glitter churches - I put it on some glittery basket filler, under a glass light dome from Goodwill, topped with a glittery bow. It adds so much sparkle to my bookshelf!

This is one of my fave ornaments.  It's a snowman painted onto a knife!! There is wire wrapped up the handle, to hold a bow and hook.

My baby, 16 years ago...love this ornament so much!

This is a special ornament David made in kindergarten last year.  Precious!

Can you guess what this is? It's a crushed coke can, painted to look like Santa! Katie made this in 1st grade!

One of my vintage ornaments from my Papa & Grandmother's collection.  Isn't she beautiful?

Not the best shot, but this is the kitchen table, covered with Randy's grandmother's tablecoth over a cream colored cloth.  I added peppermint candies to the vase for a pop of red and white after this was taken!

This is where my Vintage Ornament Tree ended up.  With 18' ceilings, anything tall is good!  I like how it looks up there, & it is safe from the kiddos!!

This was my Great Aunt Charlotte's.  It was passed on to me from my Grandmother's Christmas ornaments Dad gave me.  It's sequins, attached with pins into folded points of fabric on a styrofoam cone.  So vintage!! Another favorite!

The most precious things to me... my beautiful kiddos, December 2010.

Kitchen Memories

I've been doing a lot of work in the kitchen lately, what with counters being painted, walls prepped, etc. This little recipe box is one I see many times a day, and I've become so used to it being a part of my kitchen.

It belonged to my Grandmother. She died in 1994, exactly one month before my beautiful Katie was born. She was 86. My Dad brought it to me about six years ago, before he moved to Charlotte. It means so much to me to have and use this special little box of memories. I love the vintage graphics on it, and the pastels that were quite the rage when this box was new.

Inside, I've added many of my own recipes. But I'm rather lazy about them. I prefer to cut them from magazines, or print them off the web. Handwriting them is a pain to me!

It is so special to me to have so many recipes Grandmother wrote out. And to see that she was just like me, cutting them from the paper or a magazine!

I love these two - one from my Mom in her handwriting (Taco Salad), and one from Grandmother, (Chicken Corn Chowder) in her handwriting. They shared a love of cooking and often shared recipes through the mail. Seeing my Grandmother's handwriting brings back so many memories.

Grandmother was quite the entertainer. I have several gelatin molds she used for fancy-schmancy molded salads at her bridge luncheons. Check out this recipe...

Frankly, I'm glad those have gone out of vogue! Not a fan of gelatin, y'all!

Here are a few more:

And here is one from an English great-great-great Aunt!

I don't use most of the recipes in Grandmother's recipe box, but I can't bear to part with them, either. Just knowing they are there is comforting to me!

So now I'm curious. Where do you keep your treasured recipes?  Who gave you your most treasured recipe?
