  1. I find it interesting that only a inch of water can attract the mosquitos

  2. I learned that: Bright colors have not been proven to attract adult mosquitoes, but strong smells like perfumes, scented soaps, and lotions do. Standing water sources and hot exhaled gases also attract mosquitoes.

  3. We have a small goldfish pond in our back yard and living in rural AR the mosquitoes get pretty bad so we always make sure to add a mosquito donuts every few weeks, they wont harm the fish but they will keep the mosquito eggs from hatching!

  4. I learned that Yellow lights attract fewer adult mosquitoes than ordinary lights, not the blue / white lights However the yellow light does not repel mosquitoes, it only attracts them less.

  5. yellow lights attract fewer mosquitoes was interesting to me! I learned something new today :)

  6. I stay inside. In the Chicago suburbs with "sweet blood" that's the only way ti stay away from mosquitos. :(

  7. I grew up in FL so I did very well on this quiz. Shopping for "bug lighting" I notice a lot of companies that sell the yellow bulbs tend to report them as mosquito it was interesting to learn that while the yellow light will not "repel" a mosquito.

  8. I learned that as soon as you put on bug spray, it actually starts to wear off. Not good lol.

  9. My best tip for dealing with mosquitos would be to avoid going outdoors when they are out and about. Also, long sleeves and pants help.

  10. I commented on the post,, with the name "Laura" for the extra entries. :)
