Purex PowerShot Detergent

The best part of being a Purex Insider is getting to try their new products before they are widely available.  I love seeing all the great new things they have to offer. Last month I got a box containing their new Purex® PowerShot detergent and I couldn't wait to do some laundry and try it out.  This detergent is so awesome,  it literally does the measuring for you!

I received the Purex® PowerShot Mountain Breeze fragrance.  It's super easy to use.  Flip, Dose, Done! One flip = one load.  Got a large or super-dirty load to do?  Use two flips!  I love this easy measure liquid detergent from Purex!

Purex® PowerShot is super-concentrated, so don't be alarmed when you see how little is needed to get your clothes clean! It contains 50% more stain fighting power in every drop, vs regular Purex detergent.  It's also available in Natural Elements Linen & Lilies fragrance.

My son is learning how to do laundry and he thinks this new auto-dosing technology is the best! We have used this detergent since late January and really are enjoying the fragrance, the clean clothes we get and of course, we love how easy it is to use.   And one other feature - this is a no spill detergent bottle! It's only going to dispense if you flip it upside down and open the lid!

Weekend Purex Ultrapacks giveaway!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! We had a nice one - my daughter, her boyfriend and another friend of hers from high school were here. We didn't cook as many dishes this year, and I sent them all home with leftovers packed in quart-sized mason jars!!  That way there weren't so many leftovers to tempt me! Win win for everyone! :0)

So....ugh. I had no idea how much of a pain my computer troubles would turn out to be. After I got the hard drive replacement from HP, I took it to Tiger Direct. They had to back up what they could from the corrupted HD, then reinstall everything on the new one.  They kept my laptop for a few days to do all that,  and finally called to say it was good, so I picked it up and brought it home. Didn't have time to do much with it for a few days, but when I finally got it up, nothing would load, save, it was a mess!  I drove back up to Jefferson, to Tiger Direct, & left it for another several days. Picked it up 4 days later when they called me, brought it back home again, and put it aside - it was Thanksgiving week!

At the beginning of this week I tried again ~ this time it won't connect to the internet at all. Boo! I am so tired of dealing with it, and so irritated! We have lots planned for the next few days, so I can't even get it back up to Tiger Direct until next week. In the meantime, I have gotten my icky old (very SLOOOOOOOOOOOW) laptop back up and semi-working. It stinks working on this one though.  I apologize to my sponsors for the delay - I WILL have their reviews and/or giveaways up beginning next week no matter what!

QUICK Purex Detergent Giveaway!!

Hey guys!! Thought we should start this week off with a quick,  awesome giveaway!  I am loving Purex's new Triple Action Detergent.  It works so well in banishing stains, and the Natural Elements detergent has an amazing fruity scent that just cheers me up while I do my laundry!  It smells so good!!  They also have a Mountain Breeze fragrance, and a free and clear version, too. 

Purex is my only brand of choice these days, and it is NOT because I am a Purex Insider.   I am a couponer, so the best deal will usually have my heart.  Sometimes that is Purex,  sometimes not.  But what I love about this brand is that it works well,  they have Liquid Detergent,  UltraPacks as well as those nifty Triple Action Sheets!  I am all about choices, lol!  But it also has to do what it says, and Purex does! : )  My clothes consistently come out looking fantastic - I've even found that most stains don't require pretreating.

Giveaway ~ Post Honey Bunches of Oats!

My family loves cereal!  So much so, that I usually have at least 10-20 boxes in my stockpile.  I buy it on sale/with coupons when it's cheap so we always have plenty on hand for easy breakfasts, snacks and sometimes even for dinner!

So you know I was really excited when I was asked if I'd like to try Honey Bunches of Oats AND give away coupons for FREE boxes ~  of course!!  My kids were ecstatic when the package arrived - they LOVE Honey Bunches of Oats! Giveaway ~ Renuzit Fresh Accents Holiday Air Freshener (3 winners!)

Several weeks ago, there was a package dropped off at my door that I wasn't expecting. Imagine my surprise to open it and find some beautiful (and fabulously scented!) holiday air fresheners!

The package was from Purex!  I'm a Purex Insider, so I get wonderful packages from them throughout the year with products to review and give away. What I didn't know is that Renuzit is one of Purex's sister brands.  Those who know me well know that I am a candle & air freshener FREAK! I love to have wonderful fragrances in each room of my home.  So, I was really excited to dive into this package!

Renuzit has a brand new air freshener product this holiday season! It's an attractive air freshener that features a stylish two sided-holiday design. It comes in two amazing holiday fragrances: Winter Berry and Festive Snow.  Each lasts for 30 days, and there are no plugs, batteries or flames needed!  My package contained one of each to try out.

I put one of these air fresheners in the family room, and one in the master bedroom. It's been 3 weeks, and the fragrance is still going strong in both of these.  I prefer sweeter scents so Winter Berry is definitely my favorite fragrance of the two. 

These will freshen up your home and add a little touch of holiday whimsy too.  I will be picking up a couple more of these;  they will smell great in my home this holiday season!  (They won't be around for long, so stock up on these while you can!)

Purex Complete Crystal Softener Review & GIVEAWAY!!!

Time for another giveaway!!  As a Purex Insider,  I was given the opportunity to sample one of their new products. So for the last two weeks I've been trying out their Purex Complete Crystal Softeners.  Have you seen these crystals in the laundry section of your store?  They are pretty as can be, these tiny crystals that you add to your wash for a freshness that really lasts!!

During this process, I learned a lot about traditional liquid fabric softeners, and how they differ from Purex Complete Crystals.

Did you know that traditional liquid fabric softeners are:

• most are oil-based? That means they work by coating your clothes in oil!
• This oily residue builds up over time, and actually allows dirt to stick to your clothes, decreasing the lifespan and leading to discoloration...
• The oily residue can interfere with the absorbency of towels and other fabrics...
• That children's pajamas can become LESS safe if treated with traditional liquid fabric softeners.  The fibers of those items are treated to meet flame-retardant standards, and the oily residue from traditional fabric softeners can impair the effectiveness of the flame-retardant treatment!! Who knew?!  I was honestly shocked by this, since I did use a traditional liquid softener with all of my laundry, including my kids' pj's! 
• If you wear sportswear that wicks moisture/perspiration away from your body during exercise or recreation, the oily residue from traditional fabric softeners can reduce the effectiveness of the fabric's moisture wicking!

Purex Complete Crystals, on the other hand:

• are 92% natural, and not oil-based.
• Towels stay fresh and absorbant with Purex Complete Crystals.
• is the first major fabric softener that is completely safe to use on children's sleeping garments and will not impair the flame retardant qualities.
• does not inhibit wicking fabrics so they are safe to use on your active/athletic wear.
• Safe for all of your laundry, will not cause discoloration to your clothing
• Add directly to your laundry.  You don't have to add during the rinse cycle, or put them into a compartment.  Just sprinkle onto the laundry and start the cycle!
• Safe for HE, top loader, and side loader machines!

Purex Complete Crystals are available in three lovely scents: Fresh Spring Waters, Lavender Blossoms, and Tropical Splash.  I received a sample-sized bottle of the Fresh Spring Waters scent and I used a free coupon to try the Lavender Blossoms scent.  Both are fresh and invigorating, but my favorite is the Lavender Blossoms.  Yum! Since you add the crystals directly to your laundry, they go through the entire cycle with your clothes, so the fragrance is infused throughout the load.  And the scent really lasts in your freshly-washed clothes, sheets and towels. I've been using the crystals long enough to be able to confirm that!

One last thing:  On the Purex Insider boards someone mentioned that she had placed these crystals in bowls to use as a decorative air freshener around the house!  Once you smell them, you will understand why!
Purex Complete Crystals can be found at many stores nationwide. Personally, I've seen that Walmart has them for under $4, and Walgreens sells them for under $5.
